The Logistics & My Clinical Support

• A Clinical Space: These are professional psychotherapy groups led by Kat Atienza, LMFT (CA License #161292)

• Insurance & Superbills: While I don't bill insurance directly, I can provide you with a superbill that you can submit for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

• The Investment: $48 per 90-minute session (special launch rate)

• The Commitment: I keep our groups small (max 5 members) to ensure you always have "floor time" and feel heard.

The First Step: Your Group Screening

To protect the safety and "flow" of our community, I require a brief 15-minute screening for all new group members.

Why a screening?
Starting group therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you have specific sensory needs or ways of relating that matter deeply. This conversation is a gentle way for us to get to know each other and make sure the space feels supportive for you.

We’ll talk about what you’re hoping for, what helps you feel comfortable, and how (or if) body-based practices fit for you. Group work can be powerful (our brains and nervous systems learn through safe connection) but it works best when you feel at ease and respected.

This isn’t about being “the right fit.” It’s about creating a space where you can show up as you are, at your own pace.

1 hour virtual individual therapy session

My therapeutic approach blends trauma-informed care with the kind of deep, authentic presence that an algorithm simply can’t replicate. Expect evidence-based treatment, creative action, and honestly… probs some laughter. You aren’t a data point, and your therapy shouldn't feel like one.

I trade the generic advice for literal tools that help you shift your relationship with your mind. From kids finding their footing to adults seeking flow, I provide a specialized therapeutic space for children, pre-teens, teens, and adult humans (ages 6+) to finally unmask & flow.

Ages 6-11 Screening Protocol (Required)

Honoring the Human, Not the Calendar

Age is just one data point in a much bigger picture. Whether you’re an Old Soul in a young body or navigating the world with a vibrant Inner Child, your therapy should match your actual capacity. For ages 6–11, I require a Digital Readiness Screening to make sure Telehealth (virtual therapy) is a tool for connection and growth, not just another source of sensory fatigue and digital distraction.

San Diego’s Newest Walk & Talk Therapy

A new era of neuroaffirming care

Unmask & Flow is San Diego’s newest coastal Walk & Talk practice, built for the neurospicy soul.

Walk & Talk Therapy is a premium individual service for humans ages 25+

Bilateral Stimulation is a fancy way of describing a simple, powerful rhythm: the alternating tap of your left and right feet as we move. This back-and-forth motion engages both sides of your brain, helping you process heavy emotions while staying grounded in the present. Walking side-by-side removes the performance of a clinical setting. No staring, no sensory overwhelm, no 'masking' required. It’s therapy that moves at your pace. It’s healing in motion.

Note: This specialized service requires a brief screening process to make sure this environment supports your safety and your therapy goals.

A Note for my 18–24 Explorers:

At Unmask & Flow, we respect that age is just a number, but we also respect the neurobiology of the Pre-fron-tal Cor-tex.

This part of the brain (the one that helps us manage sudden impulses) is usually still receiving its final updates until age 25. To keep our sessions creative and grounded, a mandatory screening is required for those under 25 (18-24). Since the San Diego coast has a lot of 'random inputs,' I want to make sure your nervous system feels steady enough to Unmask & Flow safely in an outdoor setting. If the shore isn’t the right match yet, don't worry, I’ll find another creative way to support your growth.
